          NetGate 1100

This is the only product that I've bought so far but it is an amazing piece of hardware and software! I needed only once to reflash the device because of my mistake and the support was quick, really kind and helpful. They provided me an image for my device to reflash. This device puts all other routers/firewalls that I've used so far in its pocket! It is the gate of my home network and the device is brutal with its many functionalities and ofcourse it is FreeBSD based!

Guys, happy holidays and keep up the good work!
          You are awesome!
          Thanks you!

          NETGATE 1100

Using about a year and has been great for learning and routing traffic in my home network. Have rolled out other Netgate's to small Biz using the 2100. Great products.

Great to hear, thanks for the review!

I'm a dabbler in computer security. I've built my own hardware firewalls out of old computers, and they were always kind of slow. I was afraid this little 1100 would be, too, but it's not. I haven't had any bandwidth issues. It worked right out of the box with just a bit of configuration, but of course, I had to play with it. The fact that it runs pfSense is amazing. To have that kind of power and flexibility in this little box is almost unbelievable. So if you're sitting on the fence, not believing, like I did for a very long time, I suggest you give it a try. I think you'll be favorably impressed.

          Thanks for your feedback!

Good stuff for average home stuff and for basic remote work….

Have used this NG1100 now for two years, For not so highly demanding home router tasks and basic remote work….exellent unit compared to one I used to have.

Doing full time remote work trough this unit…basic setups with pf plocker etc… major hickups……all but one pfsense updates during this period without any problems.

With the latest update had to contact NG support as update did not complete as healthy one, but and received the proper instructions in 2 hours from NG up port in order to continue my work.

For gaming……for WRC Rally all gens and other motor sports mostly….found form NG forums the right / good enough settings for pssense’s FQ_CODE
L settings for what is needed for NVIDIA GE Force Now……all GEForceNow games I own played without problems so far via GEForceNow ….requiring in 25 down & some quick ones up….this unit seems to almost up to task GEForceNow demands….but time to time just not reaching podium which leads toto think if it is me or …some hw involved …like performance of NG1100?

So…For gaming only…..currently testing my old Mac mini 2011 server to act as gaming router with pfsense SE…if that could help to get rid off some minor lags an get my WRC car etc
to finish the line some seconds earlier to get the podium….

Anyways… are just for fun…router is primarily for work and NG1100 has met what I looked after when I switched to it from nnn some years ago. Thanks for good product.

          Life is good is NG1100

          Thank you for your review!
